Ok - NOW I'm starting to panic!

I think that this last week has gone by WAY too quickly - because I blinked and it's only about 36 hours before we are go for launch!  Seriously, where did the time go?  I have to keep reminding myself of the positives - because the all too real possibility of us not being able to leave till Saturday keeps popping up in my head.

First, I was successful in selling my car!  This is good, because moving 3,000+ miles is horrifically expensive (yes, I keep saying this - and it's still true).  Second, we were able to procure a newer 20-ft truck with only 4,000 miles on it for the same price of the 17-ft truck.  We will have a little extra room in the truck - but that is ok.  Third, we have been getting quite a bit of help - especially from Grandma Judy, Sabrina, & my Mom.  In fact, Grandma Judy has taken on the task of packing my kitchen - which is great, because I had been avoiding that like a plague-covered whore (ignore this last part if it offends - not my intention).  Fourth, Charlotte has no neurological or physical injuries from falling off the back of the U-Haul onto her head, on the concrete driveway...only a mild concussion and lots of bumps & bruises.  Fifth and probably last, Kev and I haven't killed each other yet...probably a good thing that all his knives and crossbows and weapons and geeky, sharp what-nots are packed at the front of the truck (so no easy access)!

And my final message of this post, because it keeps popping up in my head...

Getting Lost in a Sea of Boxes...

OH MY GOODNESS!  It doesn't seem like anything is going to get finished and I have been working my patootie off for two weeks now!  Of all the spaces in our house, I can honestly say that Charlotte's room/closet; the master bedroom closet; the living & dining room; and the coat closet are nearly ready to go!  But this still leaves Kev's office (by that I mean geeky junk room), our master bedroom, the bathrooms (I think these will be easy, I'm not sweating over them); the pantry & kitchen; and the rest of the garage (it's at least half done).

We are throwing/giving things away left and right - it's amazing how much you can accumulate in 2 short years...I suppose that it doesn't help that Kevin is a damn-near hoarder.  Yes, you heard right, that boy collects, collects, collects seemingly USELESS stuff!  But I have doled out his punishment quite effectively methinks!  I'm making him pack and sort all of HIS things...(insert maniacal laugh here).

Even though it all seems overwhelming, I'm not stressing too much - because I feel like everything WILL get done - without us having to rush towards the end.

And we have our tentative route mapped out - sort of...

First stop is Boise, ID - where we will hopefully be staying with one of Kevin's step-Aunt's.
Next is Billings, MT
Then Mitchell, SD
Janesville, WI
Cleveland, OH
And last, but not least, a 630 trip to good ol' Storrs, CT!

Of course, we'll be doing some little sightseeing stuff along the way - definitely Mt. Rushmore, the Corn Palace, a touch of West Yellowstone, and Niagara Falls...

Now, enough writing - I have to get back to working...

(Don't judge...this picture was taken a week ago - the pile has grown EXPONENTIALLY)!!
